Programme Overview

Africa’s cloud market is growing faster than any other region, with hyperscalers investing billions in data centres from Cairo to Cape Town. Every business going digital needs engineers who can architect, build, and operate cloud-native infrastructure — and the demand vastly outstrips supply.

This programme gives you the hands-on skills to architect solutions on AWS and Microsoft Azure, automate infrastructure as code, build CI/CD pipelines, containerise applications, and embed security into every layer. You will graduate with cloud certifications, a strong GitHub portfolio, and the practical confidence that comes from 120+ hours of live cloud lab work.

What You Will Study

MODULE 01
Cloud Fundamentals & AWS Core
EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda. Understanding cloud economics and the shared responsibility model. Core AWS certification preparation.
MODULE 02
Infrastructure as Code
Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Provisioning and managing repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure. Hands-on labs in real AWS environments.
MODULE 03
Containers & Kubernetes
Docker fundamentals, writing Dockerfiles, container orchestration with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS). Helm charts and managing containerised workloads at scale.
MODULE 04
CI/CD & DevOps Practices
Git workflows, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps. Building automated test and deployment pipelines. Blue-green deployments and rollback strategies.
MODULE 05
Cloud Security & Compliance
Identity and access management, encryption, secrets management, WAF, and cloud security posture management. Compliance frameworks relevant to African data regulations.
MODULE 06
Site Reliability Engineering & Observability
Monitoring, logging, alerting with CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana. SLOs, SLIs, error budgets. Incident management and blameless postmortems.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this programme, you will be able to:

Architect and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS and Azure with confidence
Write infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation
Build end-to-end CI/CD pipelines that automate testing and deployment
Containerise applications and orchestrate them with Kubernetes
Apply cloud security best practices across infrastructure and application layers
Monitor, observe, and maintain production systems using SRE principles

Who Is This For?

Designed for software developers, system administrators, IT professionals, and technically minded career changers who want to specialise in cloud infrastructure and DevOps engineering. Basic Linux command-line comfort and some programming experience are required. Excellent preparation for AWS Solutions Architect Associate and Microsoft Azure Administrator certifications.

“Before this programme I was a junior sysadmin managing on-premise servers. Six months after graduating I was a Cloud Engineer at a Nairobi tech firm, managing Kubernetes clusters and building deployment pipelines for three product teams. The hands-on labs made all the difference.”
— Grace N., Cloud Engineer — Nairobi, Kenya
