Closing Africa’s gender digital divide — one trailblazer at a time.
Across Africa, women and girls are significantly less likely than their male counterparts to have internet access, own a smartphone, or have received digital skills training. This is not an accident — it is the result of structural barriers including cost, cultural norms, safety concerns, and lack of role models. Women in Digital Africa exists to dismantle these barriers.
This 10-week programme is designed specifically for women and girls aged 16 and above across the African continent. It is free, delivered in local languages, and supported by a network of female mentors, community facilitators, and corporate sponsors. Participants learn not just technical skills, but confidence, professional identity, and how to build a career or business in the digital sector.
By the end of this programme, you will be able to:
Open to all women and girls aged 16+, anywhere on the African continent. Particularly focused on reaching women in underserved and rural communities, women re-entering the workforce, young women navigating career choices, and women entrepreneurs growing digital businesses. Device access support and scholarships available.
“Before Women in Digital Africa, I was invisible online. Ten weeks later, I had launched my tailoring business on Instagram, accepted my first international order, and joined a community of 40,000 women who lift each other up every day.”— Fatou D., entrepreneur — Dakar, Senegal
